My Views on the Kosovo Crisis

As, i think, everyone in the entire world knows in Kosovo a civil war has turned into a, really, quite large war including America the Uk italy and most of the, origionally anti soviet organisation, NATO. Origionally a diranged man, by the name of Slobberdan Millosovich, decided that he wanted to become a 90's hitler and expell all of the ethnic Albanians from their rightful home in Kosovo. Due to this the U.N. decided that it was necissary to intervene. They did this through NATO. America and britain promptly launched an air war campain in which cruse missiles and LGB's are dropped on 'stratigic', 'military' targets. Recently, though, the Serbs have, apparently, been managing to feed the CIA mis-information causing NATO to hit civilian transports. This though terrible, to me seems trivial. Not because I hate ethnic albanians and I do not undervalue people's lives but because casualties happen in war, terrible though it is, and it's not NATO's fault so therefore there isn't, really, anything to complain about except for Slobodan Milosovich and the Serb regime. There is also talk about sending in ground troops. This may seem necissary but really all NATO needs to do is send in either some crack SAS troops or a Navy Seals covert ops force to assasinate Sloberdan Milosovic and every thing, though it might seem simplstic would be ok; either that or just kill everything that moves and is dressed in a military uniform in Kosovo.

The Trench Coat Mafia

I have quite strong views on the tench coat mafia incident, which happened in Colorado last week, this is because of many things. One of the things, though, is that I have very similar tendencies as those who committed the massacre. For instance I like to be different, in a small time kind of way, I also like a variaty of music, which includes groups like Nirvana and Metalica, other similarities is that I like violent video games, horror movies and wierd stuff in general. This shocked me, does this mean that I am going to go and slaughter all of my fellow class mates, peirs and teachers? The group were also intelectual and slight outcasts. I, myself, am not an outcast but I'm not an average student. I'm also a 'free Thinker' according to my teachers. All of this confused me. Am I so close to the edge that if one thing happens to me I'm going to go on a killing spree?
Something which dissapointed me was the manner in which the media handled it. They not only hurried out the first edition before everything had settled but they got the facts wrong, this continued over the subsequent days. By the end of the week it had, apparently, emerged that not only were the Guys 'outkasts', 'freaks', 'neo-nazi fuckheads' or whatever title you wish to pin on them, they were accused of being Hackers. As I am a 'Hacker' in some sense of the word this hit me hard. I hate the media's perception of intelegent people who are good with computers and, occasionally, exploit those who don't know as much as we do. There is also not any evidence of them being hackers and only limeted evidence of them being neo-nazis. This thanks to AOL, one of my other pet hates, who 'helpfully' removed the Trench Coat Mafia web site for some unknown and seemingly twisted reason.

The 'New' Church

This is not a current affair worldwide but in my tiny corner of the universe my school has been 'hired' at weekends by an evangelical group of Christians. This annoys me for many reasons as for a long time I have managed to avoid going into a church or place of religous worship aside from a 'Meeting House', which is used by the quaker section of the Christian faith, and is not really religious at all. Having turned my school hall into a place in which people are engouraged have 'Divine' revelations, or as I prefer to call them mental lapses or breakdowns, I am forced to sit in an evangelical church every wednesday. They also 'upset' my beliefs by covering up a selection of the GCSE project heads which are displayed in the entrance hall for some unknown reason. This is not only rediculous but is risking the safety of our GCSE project I mean what if one of them suddenly 'felt' the hand of god upon their shoulder and instantly dropped the head causing misery and one poor soul (possibly me) to loose their GCSE sculpture grade. That last sentance may have been a bit sarcastic but they are, really, just displaying the common traits of an X-tian zealot, imposing their views on others even when it is not their place and not thinking about the possible outcomes of their incompetance.
Also a rather ironic occourance happened I, probably the most Athiestic person in my entire school, found one of their newsletters on my chair in assembly this morning; call it an 'act of God'. (hehehehehehe)
Below are extracts from what seems to be a 'sermon' or, more likely a speech by a man called 'Bob Cheesman':

"Be united together, a people accepting and owning what I am doing in your midst. And I want you to be that people, a people that follows leadership. I want you to be a people that recognise where my hand is and go there and follow that leadership. I do not require you just to follow leadership, I require you to discern where my hand is. I require you to discern where I am and and go there. As you see your leaders raised up in the power of the HS I charge you to go with them for they will bring you into more and more of my will here in this place. They will bring you more and more into the paths of the kingdom, in the paths of the kingdom that I would have you walk faithfully. I would have you walk in that way so today as you see the symbolism of yourself joined together, this is what I see, this is what I revel in, this is what I love, I love the unity of my people. I love to see love flooding through my people. I love to see people gathered together and joined togerther; I love it when there are no divisions in my people, no chasms to rend apart - this is my heart, this is my desire, so stay united, stay close, stay gathered, stay gathered, stay gathered. And as you accept David and Julie in this way then just see that you are part of a whole, something beautiful in my sight and believe me I will bless you. Do not allow the enimy of your souls to get in and cause division, but stick to one another, pray with one another, share with one another and see where I am and go there."

If you actually read the above you will realise how much crap it actually is. It seems as though he is taking on the persona of 'god' or, due to my beliefs, catering to mass denial, by regurgitating a load of crap written in the style of the Bible and twisted to his own ends. Either that or he is taking on the role of a cult leader as in El Ron Hubbard's case and is trying to create a new extreemest religious group which will worship him as god in a 'Chairman' Mao style regime.
